Responsibility and Cost Sharing
News on the horse sectors campaign against the proposals for Responsibility and Cost Sharing
The Government intends - in a proposal that wasn't contained in the 2005 Labour Manifesto - to ensure that anyone who owns a horse in this country will have to pay a levy of £10.50 per horse owned in order to cover the cost of (a) preventing/ dealing with future animal disease outbreaks plus (b) a new ‘quango' as a new form of bureaucracy and administration that neither the public in general nor the millions of horse owners in the country have called for. It's not fair and nor will it work.
